YOUR INFORMATION & YOUR CHOICES
Community Table Privacy Policy
Effective October 29, 2026
Victory Life Christian Center operates The Community Table household registration and household-card services. This policy explains how we handle information collected through those services, including requests for text-message verification codes and choices about calls and text messages.
Information we collect
When you register a household, we collect the representative’s first and last name, ZIP code, household size, first-visit response, and your answer to our calls and text messages consent question. You may also provide a street address, city, state, and phone number. Street address, city, and state are voluntary. A phone number is needed if you choose to receive calls or texts or use phone-based card recovery.
Our administrative records also include the permanent household number, registration dates, card status, distribution visit history, and staff notes or corrections when recorded by authorized team members. We collect limited technical information, such as request timing, IP-related security information, browser information, and verification attempts, to protect these services from abuse.
How we use information
- Register and maintain your household record and reusable household card.
- Help authorized staff identify the correct household and record food-distribution visits.
- Verify a requested phone-based card recovery and prevent unauthorized access, duplicate submissions, and automated abuse.
- Send distribution updates, event information, or giveaway announcements only according to your separately recorded communication preferences.
- Maintain operational records, review service activity, and respond to requests for assistance.
Verification text messages
When available, phone-based recovery begins when you select “Retrieve My Household Card,” enter your mobile number, and select “Send verification code” on our Community Table portal. This action requests a one-time text to that number. Verification codes expire after five minutes, and attempts are limited. Message frequency depends on your requests. Message and data rates may apply.
Requesting a verification code does not subscribe you to marketing messages or change your separate calls and text messages consent choice. Text delivery depends on service availability and your carrier. If you cannot receive verification texts, ask the Community Table registration team for staff-assisted recovery.
Messaging consent and your choices
Our registration form separately asks whether you permit calls or text messages about food distributions, upcoming events, and giveaways. You may select No. Providing a phone number or requesting a verification code does not by itself grant that permission.
You may withdraw permission for future text messages by replying STOP to a message from our texting number or by contacting the Community Table team. Opting out may prevent verification texts from reaching you; staff-assisted card recovery remains available. For help with our messages or your preferences, call 205-538-2221 or speak with the registration team. Carrier or messaging-provider opt-out controls may also apply.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. Mobile phone numbers, mobile information, and SMS opt-in consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not buy, sell, or transfer messaging consent for another organization’s messaging program.
Limited information may be processed by service providers acting on our behalf to operate the portal, deliver requested messages, protect the service, or provide digital household cards. This operational processing does not authorize those providers to use your information for their own marketing.
Service providers and digital cards
Our portal uses Google Firebase for application services and data storage, and Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise through Firebase App Check for abuse prevention. These providers may process device and network information and use browser storage or similar technologies for security. Twilio is the configured SMS integration provider when text verification is enabled.
If you choose Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, the existing VeeSign digital-card service processes the limited information necessary to create your household pass. The card contains the representative’s name, household number, reusable QR credential, ministry information, and distribution schedule. Street address, phone number, and household size are not included in the public digital-card response. Apple, Google, Twilio, and other service providers also maintain their own privacy policies.
Access and protection
Household records are restricted to authorized Community Table personnel and the service providers needed to operate the system. Public card recovery requires verification; a phone number alone does not release a household card. Household cards and private setup capabilities should be kept confidential. Do not post your household QR code publicly.
We use access controls, short-lived verification codes and setup capabilities, and request limits to protect information. No electronic service can guarantee complete security. Information may also be disclosed when necessary to comply with a legal obligation or protect the safety and security of people and services.
Retention and corrections
We retain household records and distribution history for ministry administration and continuity of service. Verification and security records have limited validity; expired records are subject to operational cleanup. A code’s expiration does not delete the household record or its distribution history. We do not promise a fixed deletion date for household records.
Contact the Community Table team to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your household information. We may need to verify your identity and consider operational or legal recordkeeping needs before acting on a request. You can ask staff to correct or clear voluntary address information.
Updates and contact
We may update this policy as our services change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
For privacy questions or assistance, contact Victory Life Christian Center at 205-538-2221 or speak with the Community Table registration team during Thursday distributions, 11:00 AM–1:00 PM.
